Sony Launches Premium Multimedia Phone
Sony Ericsson launched its Xperia X1 multimedia mobile phone with an interactive demonstration at Trent London, the design show that is part of London Design Week. The first product in the company’s new premium Xperia sub-brand, the phone was initially announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last February and will be available in selected markets throughout the fourth quarter.
The Xperia X1 is designed to meet customers’ needs for a converged entertainment and mobile Web communication device. Its stylish handset includes a stainless steel body with a striking arc-slider design that opens to a wide-pitch full QWERTY keyboard. The phone includes a 3-in. VGA display.
Running Windows Mobile, the device offers users the highest data transfer rate (HSDPA/HSUPA) and Wi-Fi support. It comes with up to 400 Mbytes of memory and accommodates microSD memory cards.
