WiNetworks has received more than $17 million in orders from various customers as a result of successful trials. Shipments have begun to customers in the European, Asian and North American regions for the 802.16e SOC-based mobile compact base sation in the 1.4 GHz (L-band) and 3.5 GHz frequency. Products in the 2.5 GHz frequency will be released in March.

The Win-Max compact base stations will be used in the commercial deployment of mobile, fixed and nomadic WiMAX networks. The Win-Max compact base station will integrate into existing networks and will be interoperable with all standard WiMAX network elements. The orders include the WiNetworks Win-Max outdoor subscriber units, Win-Max indoor CPEs, and PC Express cards for laptop connectivity.

“The Win-Max compact base station is the key element in providing a low-cost, rapid deployment for our customers,” stated Mr. Zvika Harnik, CEO of WiNetworks Ltd. “Because our technology is SOC-based Wave 2 profile, our customers will be able to quickly offer the high-quality broadband services that their customers are demanding, and be able to offer mobile services when ready.”

The compact base station family (WiN7000 series) and customer premise equipment (WiN5000 series) are part of the Win-Max E series product family and are managed by the WiNMS network management system. The complete end-to-end WiMAX solution allows network operators to immediately install a cost-effective mobile WiMAX network, or upgrade an existing network to offer high-speed broadband wireless services.
