The Mobile Computing Platform 200 (MCP200) series from Qualcomm enables fleet managers to access crucial data about their vehicles, drivers, cargo, and trailers in real time, increasing back-office efficiency. It’s designed to increase transportation company revenues and customer service by enhancing in-cab productivity and improving driver training. Qualcomm says that it will be available this summer.

The MCP200 leverages the multimode broadband capabilities enabled by Qualcomm’s Gobi1000 chipset for connectivity. A satellite version also will be available. The platform offers in-cab navigation as well as multiple data ports so users can connect peripherals like document scanners. It provides text-to-speech capabilities and supports 15 languages. And, its dashboard monitors time and performance for route optimization.

Combined with the company’s FleetVisor mobile communications platform, Qualcomm says, the MCP200 series provides additional support and functionality for drivers while empowering back-office personnel. Key features in the MCP200 include navigation, geofencing, driver card download, over-the-air mass memory download of the digital tachograph, fuel consumption monitoring, and a touchscreen display and sliding keyboard.
