Yahoo! Expands oneSearch With Voice Accessibility
Yahoo! has integrated its Yahoo! oneSearch voice-enabled search capability into the Yahoo! oneSearch shortcut on select Nokia Series 60 devices and into Yahoo! Go 3.0 on select BlackBerry and Nokia Series 60/40 devices. The enhancements are available in the U.S., U.K., India, Singapore, Philippines, and Canada.
Once installed on the Nokia Series 60, it takes only one click on the phone’s screen to initiate a search. The user simply speaks or types a search for anything, from movie times and sports scores to stock quotes and restaurants. Users no longer have to search through the cell phone to conduct a search. The product also includes Search Assist, which helps with spelling suggestions and real-time related concepts for more refined search results.
Yahoo! Go 3.0 has a feature-rich user interface, a personalized start page, and services accessible through easy-to-use widgets. By integrating Yahoo! oneSearch with voice into Yahoo! Go 3.0, the company has expanded the convenience of voice search to more users.
