The organizers of International CTIA Wireless 2009, scheduled for April 1-3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, have announced the finalists for the fourth annual Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards. Also, online voting is now open for the Best in Show Award. All of the award submissions will be on display in the E-Tech Awards Showcase, located in the South Hall, Booth 114.

CTIA has established a Web site, featuring all of the contest’s entries. Visitors can go to the site, beginning at 5 p.m. EDT on Monday, March 30, and vote for the Best in Show Award. Appropriately enough for a show focusing on the latest cell-phone technology, voters also can cast their ballots by texting their choice’s identification code to 868464.

The first, second, and third place award winners as well as the Best in Show will be announced at the E-Tech Awards Ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 on the South Hall Exhibit Floor Stage. Nearly 300 applications in 18 categories were submitted to the contest. Products were judged on innovation, functionality, technological importance, and overall “wow” factor. The finalists include:
