The company will submit it to JEDEC next year for adoption as an industry standard. According to Samsung, it boasts 30% better performance than its predecessor, the Pro Class 1500. It offers 2000-IOPS random write speed and 5000-IOPS random read speed. Its respective 260-Mbyte and 50-Mbyte sequential read and write speeds are up to 10 times faster than a class 10 external memory card that reads at 24 Mbytes/s and writes at 12 Mbytes/s, enhancing the smoothness of multitasking on mobile gadgets, Samsung says. And, its 11.5- by 13-mm size is 20% smaller than the conventional 12- by 16-mm conventional memory form factor.
