The CMAD6263 Schottky diode is now available from Central Semiconductor Corp. in the tiny SOD-923 surface-mount package. The SOD-923 is the smallest surface-mount package available, at 0.026 by 0.043 by 0.016 in. That’s a 55% smaller footprint and 48% lower profile than the SOD-523 package.

The CMAD6263 is a 70-V, 15-mA Schottky with a maximum VF of 410 mV (395 mV typical) at 1.0 mA. Typical reverse leakage current is 98 nA at 50 V, with a maximum limit of 200 nA. The package’s maximum dissipation rating is 100 mW, and its operating temperature range is –65°C to 150°C.

The energy-efficient CMAD6263 is well-suited for portable handheld battery-powered products like cell phones, smartphones, digital cameras, test equipment, and analyzers. Circuit applications include dc-dc converters, voltage clamping, protection circuits, or anywhere a very small, low-leakage diode is required. The CMAD6263 is available in bulk or 8000 pieces on tape and reel. Prices start at $0.068 each for 8000 pieces on tape and reel. Sample devices are available upon request.
