Dev Kit Supports WiMAX Analysis
The YellowFin-OEM development kit from Berkeley Varitronics Systems includes a calibrated Mobile WiMAX receiver and dynamic link libraries (DLLs) software so engineers can get their own custom software development up and running. Developers also can control YellowFin-OEM receiver modules for customizable Mobile WiMAX surveys, interference detection, and packet traffic analysis.
The calibrated receiver provides spectrum analysis between 2.0 and 5.9 GHz covering Wi-Fi, WiMAX, industrial scientific medical (ISM), public safety, Bluetooth, and other popular wireless bands. The kit provides demodulation between 2.3 and 3.8 GHz for cell identification and segment information, multipath analysis, and carrier-to-interference plus noise ratios (CINRs) on a preamble basis.
The company’s receiver technology measures received signal-strength indicator (RSSI) to within +1.5 dB of any nearby WiMAX packet on or off the developer’s network. The kit includes Ethernet and mini USB ports for PC connectivity as well as an internal 12-channel/sattlelite GPS receiver and necessary DLL software and documentation. It’s available now in orders of 10 pieces and greater.
