Low-noise, medium-power PHEMT LNA comes in an SMT package

Hittite Microwave Corp. has introduced a new high-dynamic range, medium-power pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) low-noise ampliifer (LNA) in an SMT package for microwave radio/ VSAT, and Military ECM/EW applications from 12 to 16 GHz. The HMC490LP5 provides 23 dB of gain, 2.5 dB noise figure, and an output IP3 of +34 dBm from a +5.0 V supply. This versatile amplifier combines stable +25 dBm P1dB output power with low noise figure, making it suitable for both receive and transmit applications.

Also, the HMC490LP5 offers fully matched 50 Ohm I/Os and is packaged in a leadless 5 mm x 5 mm QFN surface mount package, which is easily implemented on microwave radio and VSAT system PC boards. The LNA is available from stock and may be ordered on-line.
