Commercial SMA connector range eyes diverse markets

ITT Industries, Cannon has launched a range of SMA connectors targeted at diverse markets, including medical electronics, industrial controls and cellular radio base stations. Cannon's newest devices include the latest features demanded by the market, such as crimp/solder center contacts on the cable plugs, a low number of piece parts for ease of assembly, and stand-off steps on the legs of the PCB jacks. This new range of brass-bodied SMA connectors complements its existing range of stainless steel Precision SMA products. Brass-bodied SMA connectors are suitable for non-harsh environment applications, according to ITT.

This 50-Ohm SMA range comprises straight and right angle plugs and jacks for popular flexible coaxial cables, 0.141 and 0.085 inch semi-rigid and conformable cables, as well as PCB and flange mount variants. These brass-bodied connectors are supplied in a gold-plated finish, providing an electrical and mechanically durable performance from DC to 18 GHz. They are intermateable with all SMA connectors conforming to the MIL-C-39012 interface specification. SMA connector prices range from $2.75 to less than $1.00.
