VXIbus frequency synthesizers support ATS applications
Phase Matrix Inc. has introduced a line of high-performance VXIbus frequency synthesizers (114XB) for automatic test system (ATS) applications in the factory and the field. The 114XB family of synthesizers occupies three VXI slots and encompasses the frequency range of 0.001 to 20 GHZ (1140B) and 2 to 20 GHz (1141B) with a 1-Hz resolution. The 114XB is less than one-fourth the size of comparable rack-and-stack microwave synthesizers, weighs less than 18 pounds, and is aimed at portable/transportable and flight line applications, where small size, light weight, and high performance are important attributes.
The 1140B is targeted for broadband RF and microwave ATS applications, while 1141B is intended for microwave L through K band radar applications. An IF modulation input is standard on the 114XB and provides the means to up-convert complex digital signals or sophisticated jamming scenarios to microwave frequencies. Both the models feature a compex I/Q modulation capability over their respective frequency ranges, as well as traditional pulse/frequency/AM modulation functionality. The 114XB family possesses spectral purity signals below -60 dBc. The 114XB line can also be used as a local oscillator in radar/EW testing, narrowband device characterization, communications system testing, or as a critical stimulus/up-converter component in a synthetic imnstrument test system.
