Adapters designed for WiFi and broadband systems
RF Connectors, a Division of RF Industries, has released two Unidapt universal adapter kits designed for technicians who work with WiFi and broadband systems. Both the RFA-4018-WIFI and the RFA-4028-WIFI kits contain an assortment of 30 universal adapters that include male and female MMCX, N, reverse polarity TNC, reverse polarity SMA, N, TNC, BNC and SMA connector interfaces. By joining two adapters using a universal center, coaxial adapters can be made with any combination of these interfaces. All adapters feature Teflon insulation, silver-plated machined brass bodies and gold-plated contacts and are designed for low VSWR performance. Both kits contain the RFA-4018-20 universal coaxial cable tester that accepts any Unidapt adapter to test mating cable assemblies. The front LED panel indicates pass, fail, short, open conductor or open shield. To test free cables, attach each end of the cable assembly to the tester and the cable condition is displayed on the panel.
The RFA-4028-WIFI kit has an additional tester, the RFA-4218-20, for Cat5/5E, designed to test straight and crossover RJ-45, UTP, STP, EIA/10Base-T, 100Base-T, EIA/TIA 568A/568B, FDDI, ATM, TP-PMD and token ring cables. The Cat5 tester automatically identifies the cable type being tested, and the LED display indicates shorts, open wires, reversed pairs, crossed pairs and miss-wires. Both test kits are housed in rugged, foam-lined, impact resistant plastic cases.
