Adapter permits wireless printing

Small and home office (SOHO) users can now wirelessly print from a Bluetooth-enabled computer or PDA using IOGEAR's new Bluetooth USB Print Adapter or Bluetooth USB/Parallel Combo Print Adapter. The two products allow employees to share one printer, print from multiple devices like PDAs and reduce the amount of messy wires lying around.

The Bluetooth USB print adapter is a palm-sized, single-port device that allows users to send print jobs from a Bluetooth-enabled computer without being connected by wires. To begin using the adapter, users simply plug it into a USB printer, which enables wireless printing.

The compact combo print adapter allows a Bluetooth-enabled computer or PDA to send print jobs to a USB or parallel printer anywhere in the office. The product has an access range of up to 330 feet, longer than the length of a football field.

The Bluetooth USB Print Adapter is priced at $69.95 (MSRP) while the Combo Print Adapter is $99.95 (MSRP). The products are available immediately from all major catalog resellers, online resellers and selected retail outlets. The USB Print Adapter (GPB201) complies with USB 1.1 and Bluetooth 1.1 specifications. It has an access range of up to 66 feet. The Combo Print Adapter (GPB301) complies with USB 1.1, IEEE 1284 and Bluetooth 1.1 specifications. Both products support data transmission rates of up to 723 kbps.
