Wideband mobile antenna enables interoperability
Antenna designer and manufacturer Antenex, a unit of Laird Technologies, has introduced a wideband mobile antenna for use in public safety and other communications applications. With the expansive frequency range of 132 MHz to 174 MHz, the small “B-coil” antenna, labeled Antenex B1322W, gives users the ability to transmit and receive information with multiple government, public safety and commercial organizations. In addition, the new product also aligns with the Project 25 initiative, a new standard for digital two-way wireless communications.
The use of superior quality components and processes gives the antenna its competitiveness, said the manufacturer. ABS material is injected directly around solid brass inserts for a virtually indestructible housing that will not leak or disassemble. Inside the wideband mobile antenna, all silver soldered joints create an electrically and mechanically secure connection. Additionally, an O-ring is built directly into the base to provide a weather tight seal, while a gold-plated pushpin contact guarantees best power transfer over time. The Antenex B1322W wideband mobile antenna operates on a ground plane or no ground plane environment for ease of installation. It is currently available in a black or white housing with an optional shock spring.
