Antennas Boost 4G Device Performance, Ease Design Chores

For enhancing the performance of 4G networks, SkyCross makes available its State-Tuned Isolated Mode Antenna Technology (ST-iMAT), which also promises to conserve space while providing users with more design flexibility. The components embark as the next generation of the company’s iMAT technology, a technique that makes ones antenna behave like several. State tuning spreads the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) performance of a single radiating element across multiple frequency bands while simultaneously boosting efficiency without increasing antenna size. Pre-configured to support common multiband architectures, ST-iMAT versions are available for 4G/3G combinations in North American, Europe, and Asia and for USB, smart-phone, and tablet form factors. In application, 3G/4G mobile broadband provider IPWireless entrusts SkyCross with the design of a custom ST-iMAT antenna into its latest multi-band Long-Term Evolution (LTE) USB modem. Accordingly, this is the first such offering to gainfully exploit ST-iMAT technology.
