Ultra-small antenna eyes portables devices
Antenna solutions provider Antenova Ltd. has added a new member to its miniature family of antennas. According to Antenova, 2.4 GHz Fusca is the smallest in the gigaNOVA range of standard antennas. Designed for ease of integration into a wireless devices, ultra-small Fusca antenna is aimed at a wide range of embedded short range wireless applications such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wibree and ZigBee.
The 2.4 GHz Fusca A10192-L measures 4 x 3 x 1.1mm3 in size and is highly efficient, said Antenova. Other key specs include VSWR of <2:1 and bandwidth of 100 MHz. Since these specs were measured on Antenova’s reference board they may vary with application, as per the manufacturer’s data sheet. Plus, it is designed for SMD mounting and requires minimal groundplane. In production now, it is supplied in tape-on-reel. Antenova offers the gigaNOVA antennas for GPS (1.575 GHz) and the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.
