ARM GPU Enables Next-Gen Graphics On Smart Phones
Poised for use in smart TVs and smart phones, ARM’s Mali-450 MP graphics processing unit (GPU) exploits the latest OpenGL ES 2.0 acceleration standard. The GPU supports up to eight cores and doubles vertex processing throughput over the company’s Mali-400 MP GPU. The Mali-450 MP offers additional architectural optimization and maximizes reuse of the available resources during the graphics operation, minimizing power and bandwidth requirements. Software-compatible across the range of Utgard architecture-based graphics products, current Mali GPU users can expand their range of graphics performance points. The Mali-450 MP also lowers the barrier of entry into the market, allowing users to benefit from the dynamic Mali ecosystem, wide application programming interface (API) support, and reliable, mature drivers already available for the Mali-400 MP GPU.
