RFIC amplifiers offer high reliability and performance

Avago Technologies has released a cost-efficient, high linearity silicon bipolar Darlington amplifier in a low thermal-resistant SOT-89 package for use up to 2.5 GHz. The ADA-4789’s unconditional stability and broad bandwidth performance make it suitable for IF amplifier and pre-driver amplifier applications in cellular base stations, as well as IF amplifiers in direct broadcast satellite and cable television infrastructures. Additionally, the internal 50-Ohms matching circuitry simplifies design and provides shorter time-to-market.

The latest addition to its family of silicon bipolar Darlington amplifiers, it offers a power budget of 3.8 V/60 mA and delivers 32.6 dBm of OIP3 (linearity), 17.1 dBm of output power, 16.5 dB of gain and 4.2 dB of noise figure at 900 MHz.At 2GHz, ADA-4789 provides 28.8 dBm of OIP3, 16.2 dBm of output power and 4.4 dB of noise figure. For a higher power budget of 4.1 V/80 mA, the ADA-4789 is able to boost the performance to 33.2 dBm of OIP3, 18.8 dBm of output power, 16.9 dB of gain and 4.2 dB of noise figure at 900 MHz.

Pricing begins at $0.59 each in 45,000 piece quantities and is available through Avago’s worldwide distribution partners.
