Digital Attenuators Offer 6/7-Bit Performance
For basic attenuation chores, Skyworks Solutions offers the SKY12347-362LF and SKY12343-364LF digital attenuators, which provide 6- and 7-bit performance, respectively (see the figure). The 7-bit pHEMT SKY12343-364LF with serial and parallel drivers operates over a bandwidth from 0.1 to 4 GHz. It features a 0.25-dB least significant bit (LSB), TTL/CMOS-compatible, dual-mode serial peripheral interface (SPI) controller, and a 31.75-dB attenuation range. A datasheet for the SKY12343-364LF is available at www.skyworksinc.com/uploads/documents/201355A.pdf. Operating from dc to 3 GHz, the 6-bit SKY12347-362LF with a serial or parallel driver specifies a 0.5-dB LSB. The device integrates a TTL/CMOS-compatible, dual-mode serial or parallel interface controller. A datasheet for the SKY12347-362LF can be found at www.skyworksinc.com/uploads/documents/201371A.pdf.
