DirectFET MOSFET Chipset Suits Low-Cost Notebook Applications
The IRF6708S2 and IRF6728M 30-V DirectFET MOSFET chipset from International Rectifier targets cost-sensitive 19-V input synchronous buck applications such as notebooks. These devices also reduce component count by 30% to reduce overall system cost, according to the company.
The chips boast low charge and on-state resistance, International Rectifier says, to minimize conduction and switching losses. Also, the IRF6728S2 features a monolithically integrated Schottky that reduces losses associated with body diode conduction and reverse recovery.
Both devices comply with the European Union’s Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS). Pricing for the IRF6708S2 and IRF6728M begins at $0.50 and $1.00 each respectively in 10,000-unit quantities. Production orders are available immediately.
