Distributed Antenna System Extends Broadband Coverage Indoors

Powerwave Technologies’ Nexus FT 4000 low-power, multi-standard, multi-band optical distributed antenna system (DAS) for in-building broadband debuts as a scalable DAS solution for single- or multi-operator environments. The system offers different band configurations and promises to improve coverage and capacity while future-proofing an infrastructure to support 4G. According to the company, it’s the only DAS solution available with an IP65 rating, a 10-dBO optical link budget, –25°C to 55°C temperature range, and no fans. Upgradeable from dual to quad bands, it also supports multiple-input and multiple-output 700-MHz and Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) frequency bands.
