Dual-Mode Chip Provides ANT+/Bluetooth Connectivity
The Texas Instruments CC2567 is the first wireless, dual-mode single chip enabling direct short-range communication between ANT+ and Bluetooth enabled devices, according to the company. The chip consumes 80% less printed circuit board (PCB) area than two single-mode solutions and allows simultaneous operation over a shared antenna with built-in coexistence. It also extends transmission range up to two times beyond a single-mode ANT+ design. The CC2567 will be available as part of an ANT+ Bluetooth Health & Fitness Aggregator Kit and the CC257x ANT Network Processor Kit (see the figure). The ANT+ Bluetooth Health & Fitness Aggregator Kit costs $399. For more info, go to focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/cc2567-pan1327.html.
