High-linearity multiGHz switch is RoHS-compliant
M/A-COM has announced a new low-cost, RoHS-compliant SPDT switch for applications that require high linearity, low insertion loss and high isolation with reduced size. The MASWSS0136, with its low leakage current, is a low insertion loss switch that maximizes system linearity performance while reducing dc power consumption.
Typical applications include transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx) switching in linear systems such as WLAN 802.11b/g, which connect the receiver and transmitter to a single antenna. In addition, diversity switching can be achieved by connecting two switches back-to-back on a PCB board. For 802.11b/g applications under test conditions of 3.0 V, this switch is designed to have a low typical insertion loss of 0.40 dB, high minimum isolation of 25 dB, P1dB of 28 dBm and a maximum leakage current of 10 µA. The MASWSS0136’s lead-free surface mount 2 mm x 2 mm SC-70 packaging and competitive pricing are attractive attributes for cost-sensitive and space-constrained applications. The MASWSS0136 is fabricated on a low-cost 0.5-micron gate-length GaAs process and features full passivation for increased reliability. Each MASWSS0136 is 100% RF tested to ensure performance compliance.
The MASWSS0136 is available from stock and is priced at $0.18 in quantities of 100K.
