High-power amplifier targets satellite communications
Amplical Corp. has released a new family of high-power amplifiers aimed at wireless, defense and satellite communications. The model 50AMP8.5G9.5-40-37 covers the frequency range of 8.5 GHz to 9.5 GHz. Its output power at 1 dB compression is at least 37 dBm, and gain is 40 dB. The amplifier’s noise figure is 7 dB. Input voltage is +12 V, and current draw is less than 3.5 A. The unit is supplied with TTL control, which turns current off to the unit. Additionally, the unit is equipped with an integral isolator at the output.
Amplical model 50AMP8.5G9.5-40-37 is supplied with sma(f) input and output connectors, has a small profile at less than 3 inches by 5 inches including connectors and is less than 1 inch in height.
Using small internal part count, the unit is economically priced and delivery is typically available from stock. Alternative supply voltages, power levels and frequencies are also available, according to the manufacturer.
