Mixers with LO amplifiers cover 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz
Hittite Microwave's new double-balanced mixers, the HMC551LP4(E) and HMC552LP4(E) have integrated LO amplifiers, which are ideal for Cellular/PCS/3G, Broadband, WiMAX and WiBro applications from 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz. The mixers are MMICs which operate from 0.8 GHz to 1.2 GHz, and 1.6 GHz to 3.0 GHz, respectively.
The devices feature a conversion loss of 8 dB, up to 30 dB of LO-to-RF isolation, and +27 dBm input IP3. These mixers are ideal for upconverter and downconverter applications.
The HMC551LP4(E) and HMC552LP4(E) each operate from a single +5 V supply, and accept LO input drive levels between -4 dBm and +4 dBm, allowing them to be driven directly from a synthesizer output. The devices are housed in RoHS compliant, leadless 4 mm x 4 mm QFN “E” packages, and are pin-for-pin compatible, allowing a common PCB layout for all of the frequency bands covered.
The HMC551LP4 and HMC552LP4 versions have SnPb solder plated leads and are RoHS-5 compliant. Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available. Released data sheets are available on-line at Hittite’s web site.
