MEMS Mic First With I2S Interface
Reliably handling 24-bit data, the ADMP441 iMEMS microphone from Analog Devices may be the first kid on the block with a standard I2S digital interface. Also on tap are an extended frequency response from 100 Hz to 15 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 61 dBA, and a power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 80 dBFS. The microphone exploits patented microelectromechanical-systems (MEMS) and audio signal processing technologies and comes in a 4.72- by 3.76- by 1.00-mm surface-mount package. It also is reflow solder compatible with no sensitivity degradation. Sampling now with production in June, pricing is $2.38 each in quantities of 1000.
