Cavium and Qualcomm Atheros have unveiled a mobile adapter solution based on the Miracast Wi-Fi Display standard and optimized for enhanced peer-to-peer connections with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform. As a result, smart-phone and tablet OEMs will have access to a standards-plus wireless display reference solution capable of high-quality video transmissions with simultaneous, full interactivity. The package consists of a Miracast-enabled mobile adapter with Cavium’s PureVu CNW6611L system-on-a-chip (SoC) and Qualcomm Atheros’ AR6203X 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi solution that combines the Snapdragon MSM8960 processor and WCN3660 802.11n dual-band Wi-Fi chipset.
