Multiple-band antennas support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz broadband wireless networks
PCTEL, Inc.'s Antenna Products Group has launched a new line of multiple-band antennas designed to operate with dual-band or wideband radios transmitting in multiple microwave frequencies. The new product portfolio includes a high-gain omnidirectional mast-mount antenna and a high gain directional panel antenna for outdoor installations, plus four in-building wireless data antenna models. All of the models in the new line have been optimized to cover 2.4 GHz to 2.48 GHz, and 4.94 GHz to 5.85 GHz frequencies.
The model MMO24580608 mast-mount omnidirectional antenna provides 6 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz and 8 dBi at 4.9 to 5.85 GHz frequencies. It features a UV stable radome for long-lasting outdoor use. Similarly, the MP24581820PT directional panel antenna provides 18 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz, and 20 dBi gain at 4.9 to 5.85 GHz frequencies. This panel features UL-listed 94-V0 plastic and PC board and a vented radome design for durability under severe weather conditions. It can be ordered with adjustable uptilt and downtilt mounts and is terminated with an N female connector. The above models are suitable as backhaul antennas for multiple-frequency networks.
In addition, four in-building models have been optimized to provide contained signals for maximum security of in-building wireless networks. The MC24580304PT omnidirectional ceiling-mount antenna provides 3 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz, and 4 dBi gain at 4.9 GHz to 5.85 GHz frequencies; the MHA24580406PT bi-directional ceiling-mount hallway antenna provides 4 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz, and 6 dBi gain at 4.9 to 5.85 GHz frequencies. These ceiling tile-mount models feature UL-listed materials and cable that meet strict UL safety specifications, allowing added mounting flexibility to installers and network designers.
Also for in-building applications, the MIG2458 tape-mount omnidirectional workstation antenna provides 0 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz, and 3 dBi gain at 5.1 GHz to 5.85 GHz frequencies. This workstation antenna includes a small desktop base and an optional ceiling rail clip for added mounting versatility. Finally, the MP24580809PT directional panel antenna provides 8 dBi gain at 2.4 GHz, and 9 dBi gain at 4.9 to 5.85 GHz frequencies. It includes a short adjustable indoor mount that permits elevation adjustment for enhanced wireless coverage. All in-building models feature attractive, low-profile housings designed to complement office environments or other locations where aesthetic considerations are important.
