Next-Gen IP Accelerates Mobile Broadband Growth
Ericsson’s latest-generation IP networking portfolio promises to boost mobile broadband markets and accelerate video and cloud services. The emerging IP can handle point-to-multipoint for connecting people and devices to peers, networks, and the cloud while allowing operators to optimize their network while delivering quality of service. The first item in the IP bag is a smart services router (SSR). Offering high levels of scalability and intelligence, the SSR forms the basis of a unique mobile core network necessary for 4G/Long-Term Evolution (LTE) deployments. Next up is a comprehensive network management system, Ericsson IP Transport NMS, which enables data service provisioning and control across multiple domains and layers of a network. Another component of the offering is an integrated topology for teaming microwave and optical technologies in IP transport.
