DuPont Microcircuit Materials’ GreenTape 9K5 low-temperature, co-fired ceramic (LTCC) material is a viable contender for higher-speed, higher-frequency, and higher-reliability applications.

Unveiled recently at the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society’s 44th International Symposium on Microelectronics, DuPont Microcircuit Materials’ GreenTape 9K5 low-temperature, co-fired ceramic (LTCC) material is a viable contender for higher-speed, higher-frequency, and higher-reliability applications. DuPont also offers reliable methods of characterization for LTCC dielectrics in high-frequency microwave and millimeter-wave packaging. With commercial availability coming in 2012, LTCC material systems are used in microwave and millimeter-wave systems and are chosen because of their very low dielectric loss, high-reliability properties, and cost-to-performance balance. GreenTape 9K5 has a dielectric constant of 5.80 at 10 GHz, making it compatible with the commercial DuPont GreenTape 9K7 LTCC System.
