With a 2.3- to 2.7-GHz bandwidth, the RF5632 power amplifier (PA) from RF Micro Devices specifically targets WiMAX systems including customer premises equipment, gateways, access points, Long-Term Evolution (LTE) infrastructure, and wireless high-definition video distribution networks. The device integrates a three-stage PA and power detector into a 4- by 4-mm quad flat no-lead (QFN) package. The PA is controllable to accommodate a 22-dB gain step to increase system dynamic range.
