Power Amp Covers 2.3 to 2.7 GHz
With a 2.3- to 2.7-GHz bandwidth, the RF5632 power amplifier (PA) from RF Micro Devices specifically targets WiMAX systems including customer premises equipment, gateways, access points, Long-Term Evolution (LTE) infrastructure, and wireless high-definition video distribution networks. The device integrates a three-stage PA and power detector into a 4- by 4-mm quad flat no-lead (QFN) package. It operates from a standard 5-V supply and delivers an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 2.5% with an output power of 28 dBm. The PA is controllable to accommodate a 22-dB gain step to increase system dynamic range. Other features include a gain of 34 dB, input and inter-stage matching, a power-down mode, and power detection. Pricing starts at $3.10 each/10,000. To view a datasheet for the RF5632.
