Protected network station enhances reliability, redundancy
Microwave Data Systems' MDS P-21, equipped with MDS iNET 900 radios, is a protected network station providing redundant service for mission-critical applications where uninterrupted service is required. The complete unit is designed to hold two MDS iNETs, two power supplies, and a switchover logic board that automatically switches from one MDS iNET to the other in the event of a power failure.
In addition to the redundancy capabilities, the MDS P-21 includes all the benefits of the MDS iNET. This license-free solution provides high-speed data throughput of 512 kbps and long-range coverage, which makes it suitable for SCADA systems in electric utilities, oil and gas production and distribution, and other mission-critical communications. And because it is Ethernet- and serial-capable, it is suitable for bringing serial data onto IP networks and assists in preserving legacy equipment and providing a bridge to new Ethernet equipment.
