RF Mixer Hits 26.9-dBm IIP3, Trims Power To 294 mW
While consuming a paltry 294 mW, Linear Technology’s LTC5567 300-MHz to 4-GHz down-converting broadband mixer achieves an input third order intercept (IIP3) of 26.9 dBm. The device’s IF bandwidth of 2.5 GHz supports 4G wireless basestations and high-dynamic-range receiver apps. Other specs include operation from a 3.3-V supply, a conversion gain of 1.9 dB, a noise figure of 16.5 dB with a +5-dBm blocker, an operating temperature range from –40°C to 105°C, and single-ended operation with a 50-Ω input impedance from 1.4 to 3 GHz. A LO input integrates a buffer amplifier that requires a 0-dBm drive level. The LTC5567 comes in a 4- by 4-mm quad flat no-lead (QFN) package. Pricing starts at $6.50 each in lots of 1000.
