First Single-Chip TD-SCDMA Solution Invades China

Marvell Semiconductor’s PXA920 series high-performance, single-chip TD-SCDMA solutions deliver what the company describes as world-class performance in the form of 3D graphics, mobile gaming, mobile TV, and high-definition video. Now shipping to China’s TD-SCDMA markets, the device supports a full complement of smart phones, tablets, and MiFi mobile hotspot devices. Notably, the PXA920-based products are the industry’s first TD-SCDMA offerings to combine a high-performance application processor and modem, according to the company. This same platform supports worldwide 3G and 2G standards. Marvell provides a complete package including system-on-a-communication processors, modems, RF, power-management IC (PMIC), and integrated Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/FM connectivity including 1x1 and 2x2 mobile multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) with beam-forming capabilities.
