Step-Down Regulator Upgraded To High-Reliability, MP-Grade Temperature Range
Linear Technology’s LTC3412AMPFE is a high-reliability, MP-grade version of the LTC3412A designed for high-reliability applications with a wide ambient temperature range, from -55°C to 125°C. The LTC3412A, a 4-MHz synchronous buck regulator, is highly efficient and has a constant-frequency, current-mode architecture. Its thermally-enhanced TSSOP-16 package ensures a continuous output current of up to 3 A with voltages as low as 0.8 V. The device, according to Linear, is suitable for single-cell Li-ion and NiMH applications, and general fixed-rail systems with its input voltage range of 2.25 V to 5.5 V.
The LTC3412AMPFE features 95% efficiency, a low quiescent current of 64 uA, a 77-m Ω RDS(ON) internal switch, and a programmable frequency from 300 KHz to 4 MHz. Also included are a ±2% output voltage accuracy, a selectable forced continuous/burst-mode operation with adjustable burst clamp, a switching frequency capable of synchronization, a low-dropout operation with 100% duty cycle, a power-good output voltage monitor, and over-temperature protection.
This step-down regulator is now available at $6.45 each for 1000-unit orders.
