Super-Sensitive Schottky Diode Fits Applications To 10 GHz
The SMS7621-040LF Schottky diode from Skyworks Solutions suits a mixed bag of applications that can reach the 10-GHz range. Potential uses include sensitive detector circuits, sampling circuits, and mixer circuits in wireless local-area networks (WLANs), cable television, satellite communications, land mobile radio, and infrastructure and military sectors.
The Skyworks Solutions SMS7621-040LF Schottky diode is designed for detection, sampling, and mixing circuits to 10 GHz. The form factor is an industry-standard 0402 footprint in a plastic SMT package.
The diode is a plastic surface-mount (SMT) device available in several different configurations, including SOT-23, SC-79, and SC-70. Key specifications include a very low capacitance of 0.25 pF and an on-resistance of 18 Ω at 5 mA. Its forward drop is in the 280- to 320-mV range. Its maximum forward current is 150 mA with a maximum power dissipation of 750 mW. And, its reverse voltage is 2 V maximum.
