Touchmonitor Debuts With Support For Windows 7
The recently unveiled Elo TouchSystems 2242L touchmonitor employs Tyco’s IntelliTouch Plus surface acoustic wave (SAW) product technology and is compatible with the Windows 7 operating system additional qualifications (AQ) for multi-touch functionality. AQ certification guarantees the 2242L to work reliably with Windows 7 without having to load external touch drivers. As a result, the 22-in., open-frame touchmonitor easily handles multi-touch gaming, wayfinding, concierge services, and other touch-powered self-service programs. Contrary to comparable multi-touch systems, IntelliTouch Plus product technology employs three axes of touch info to ensure accurate, drift-free recordings of two simultaneous touches anywhere on the screen. Additionally, the touchmonitor features pure-glass construction to enable high light transmissions and thwart variations caused by ambient or extreme light. It also supports finger, gloved hand, and soft stylus activation.
