Fast LVDS Transmitter Boosts Tablet Performance

Self-trumpeted as the industry’s fastest, the Thine Electronics THC63LVDM83E low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) transmitter is on a mission to help tablet PCs and mobile appliances achieve the lowest power consumption possible. As per the company, the device reduces energy consumption by one-third that of comparable offerings. It also promises to ease cable complexities and reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise in small LCD panels. Other features include an 8- to 160-MHz dot clock range, jitter filtering, selectable clock edge, support for reduced swing LVDS, a power-down mode, a phase-locked loop (PLL) requiring no external components, 3.3-V CMOS design, and a package measuring 5 by 5 mm.
