Fabless IC design company wins award
Vimicro, a fabless semiconductor company, has received the "Outstanding Financial Performance by a Public Fabless Company Award" from the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA). The FSA works to bring the global supply chain together. Vimicro won the award for its financial record, which included doubling the company's revenue over eight consecutive quarters ending in June 2006.
"We are pleased to recognize Vimicro as the first public China-based company to achieve the Outstanding Financial Performance by a Public Fabless Company Award, honoring the company's strong financial track record, further proven by its being the first Chinese fabless company to be listed on Nasdaq," said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of FSA. "A member of FSA since 2005, Vimicro exhibits its leadership by serving on the Asia-Pacific Leadership Council, supporting the association's regional and global initiatives. We look forward to the company's continued impact on the industry."
