Anritsu opened the office to better serve the growing mobile communications market in India, which is one of four countries that compose the BRIC quartet of developing economies. India, along with Brazil, Russia, and China, is expected to achieve major economic growth. Its mobile subscribers have reached more than 50 million in this year, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. Anritsu already has regional offices in Brazil, Russia and China.

Many of the leading telecommunications companies already in the Indian market now have easier access to Anritsu's wireless test solutions that can be used during development, manufacturing, deployment, installation, and maintenance. Among the products sold through the Bangalore office will be test solutions developed and manufactured in Anritsu's Morgan Hill, Calif., facility.

"By establishing an office in Bangalore, Anritsu is committed to serving the growing needs for test and measurement equipment by the mobile communications market in India," said Anritsu President Hiromichi Toda in making the announcement. "Bangalore is home to many of the world's leading telecommunications companies as well as a high concentration of Indian software development companies. As the center of India's mobile communications industry, its needs for test and measurement equipment are increasing. The establishment of the new office specifically addresses those needs."
