Developers collaborate to deliver high-performance component models
Modelithics and Johanson Technology have collaborated to deliver new powerfully versatile models for Johanson Technology's L-series 0201 capacitors and inductors. The new models will be integrated into the Q1 2005 release of Modelithics CLR Library of high-accuracy, substrate-scalable and parts-value scalable Global Models for RF/microwave surface-mount components. The increasingly popular and rapidly-expanding CLR Library is available for leading EDA software tools including: Agilent EEsof ADS, Applied Wave Research Microwave Office, Eagleware-Elanix GENESYS, and Ansoft Designer. Free demonstration models and sample S-parameters are available at www.modelithics.com/johanson..
Larry Dunleavy, president of Modelithics, stated, "Our mission is to improve the usefulness of simulation software and enable first-pass design success, by providing improved models for a wide variety of RF/microwave devices. The trend toward reduced module size has driven increased demand for smaller surface-mount components, like the 0201 parts offered by Johanson Technology. The new models, which make computer-automated part selection easy while accurately accounting for board interactions and pad parasitics, should help designers achieve more rapid progression from software simulations to working hardware."
Scott Horton of Johanson Technology noted, "By taking this step, Johanson demonstrates its commitment to providing not only the best performing products, but state-of-the-art models for those products. We make it easy for design engineers to incorporate our components into their new designs because they obtain predictable simulation results. Ultimately, more predictable simulations result in shorter design cycles. Thus, engineers who select Johanson Technology L-Series Capacitors and RF Inductors with Modelithics models, can actually get their products to market sooner."
