Developer Wins WiMAX Design Award
ADAPTIX, a pioneering developer of OFDMA-based mobile wireless systems, announced it has been awarded the Best of WiMAX World Award for Systems Design. The ADAPTIX BX-3000 Mobile WiMAX Base Station family was cited for excellence at the WiMAX World USA Conference & Expo in Boston.
"The awards were chosen based on a careful evaluation and analysis by a group of six independent WiMAX thought leaders who are on the WiMAX World advisory board," said Eliot Weinman, Conference Chairman and President, Trendsmedia. "On behalf of WiMAX World and xchange magazine, we congratulate each of the winners."
"We are deeply honored to have received such a prominent award for our new BX-3000 family from such a prestigious panel of experts,” said ADAPTIX's Vice President of Marketing and Product Management Byron Young. "The BX-3000's highly modular, flexible and compact system design allows it to achieve both high performance and optimal cost efficiency - cornerstones of a successful 4G service deployment model."
The BX-3000's distributed architecture incorporates ADAPTIX's patented OFDMA engine and its advanced software defined radio (SDR) technology. As a result, the BX-3000 can adapt to support future profiles and standards revisions via software upgrades. Also, with its hardware-accelerated design, the fully programmable BX-3000 platform can achieve peak performance while supporting 802.16e-defined quality of service (QoS) for a variety of services, including voice over IP (VoIP) over WiMAX and mobile IPTV.
