WiMAX firm awards design win
ADAPTIX will use WiMAX RF transceivers from Maxim Integrated Products to power the RF capabilities of the ADAPTIX SX-series mobile WiMAX terminals. The SX family of mobile terminals is designed to support mass-market deployment of mobile WiMAX by carriers and operators.
With its third-generation SX series of CPEs, ADAPTIX serves carriers and operators looking to offer Mobile WiMAX 802.16e service, which is designed to provide customers with access to wireless broadband coverage and applications, including voice over IP (VoIP) over WiMAX and mobile IPTV. ADAPTIX's SX-300, which is smaller and lighter than a typical travel hard drive, supports full 802.16e functionality, provides approximately 4 Mbps of aggregate airlink performance and is available in either 2.3 GHz or 2.5 GHz profiles.
The ADAPTIX SX-500 mobile terminal incorporates a high-performance OFDMA engine with standards-compliant 802.16e-2005 software. The SX-500 mobile terminal can be used in fixed, portable or vehicular applications.
