ADI Engineering announces low-cost outdoor Wi-Fi access point and Wi-Fi router board
ADI Engineering Inc. has announced two new Wi-Fi products based on the Intel IXP42x product line for the wireless ISP, system integrator and OEM markets. "Pronghorn Outdoor" is a weatherproof outdoor 802.11a/b/g access point, and "Pronghorn SBC" is a low-cost WiFi router board. Both products are supported by leading operating system and application software partners--immediately from ADI Engineering.
Pronghorn Outdoor is based on the Intel IXP420 or IXP425 network processor. It features a NEMA 6 rated cast aluminum enclosure, single or dual high-power 400 mW 802.11b/g or a/b/g radios, 802.3af power over Ethernet, dual surge protected 10/100 Ethernet ports, case-mounted outdoor antennas or connections for external antenna cables, and is available in commercial and extended temperature versions.
Pronghorn SBC is based on the IXP420 or IXP425 network processor, and it provides up to 128 MB SDRAM, 32 MB Flash, dual surge protected 10/100 Ethernet ports, 802.3af power over Ethernet, dual Mini-PCI slots, one RS-232 port, a watchdog timer, and is available in commercial and extended temperature versions. Both products are available.
