AeroComm has enhanced the ZB2430 "ZigBee Your Way" transceiver line to feature best-in-class output power, receive sensitivity, and line-of-sight range (up to three miles). Also, the ZB2430-D targets high volume, cost-sensitive, short-range battery-powered communications for a cost below $10.

Based on the Texas Instruments 802.15.4 System-on-Chip and Z-Stack technology, the ZB2430 targets secure, low-power, mesh network applications. It communicates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. Modules are offered as either coordinators and routers or end devices. Features of network scan, auto configuration, dynamic routing, discovery, and security enable the mesh network. The embedded flash memory capacity is 128 kB.

AeroComm's "ZigBee Your Way" concept allows OEMs to customize and optimize a hardware solution for the specific demands of their applications. Options include provisions for on-board or remote antenna, enhanced receiver sensitivity, enhanced output power, remote radio configuration, surface-mount or pluggable modules. An interactive selection guide will be available online this spring.

Comprehensive ZB2430 Developer Kits are currently available from AeroComm and Mouser Electronics. Each Kit will include evaluation boards with multiple selectable configuration options to determine the best feature set.
