Customized ZigBee Platform based on SoC solution
AeroComm’s ZB2430 ZigBee Your Way Transceiver is based on the Texas Instruments’ (TI) leading-edge 802.15.4 System-on-Chip and Z-Stack technology. The ZB2430is ideal for power-restricted industrial and commercial applications. Two output-power options versions suit varying needs. The ZB2430 is designed for battery-powered communication, and the ZB2430-100 (100 mW) is for extended communication range.
With TIs’ embedded Z-Stack firmware, ZB2430 is aimed at secure, low-power, mesh network applications. Modules are offered as either Coordinators & Routers (Full Function Devices) or End-Devices (Reduced Function Devices). Network scan, auto-configuration, dynamic routing, discovery, and security enable the mesh network, delivering reliable redundancy, secure multi-communication nodes and long range performance. Additionally, the standard 128 kB of embedded flash memory provides room for larger, more complex application profiles.
The ZB2430 communicates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. AeroComm also introduces ZigBee Your Way for OEMs wishing to customize and optimize a hardware solution that meets the specific demands of their application. Options will include on- or off-board antenna, sensitivity, interface and output power, and remote radio configuration. Other features of the ZB2430 include a true SoC Zigbee-compliant transceiver module, a battery monitor, temperature sensor, timer, and multiple antenna configurations.
Comprehensive ZB2430 Developer Kits will be available from AeroComm and Mouser Electronics (www.mouser.com) in June. Each Kit will include evaluation boards with multiple configuration options selectable by OEM’s to determine the feature set that is best suited for their application.
