Amplifier delivers extraordinary gain flatness
Amplical Corp. has introduced its model AMPL56-15, a 1 GHz to 6 GHz amplifier that provides 15 dB gain with a gain flatness of better than ± 0.25 dB. To achieve this flatness, which is believed to be the best in the industry, the company employed an innovative amplifier gain compensation technique.
Despite the premium performance of the AMPL56-15, it is designed to be economical and, therefore, applicable to many applications. This new amplifier is well suited for commercial wireless infrastructure, aerospace and SATCOM—as well as defense and military-related applications.
Noise figure of the AMPL56-15 is 4 dB and the amplifier delivers +15 dBm output power at 1 dB compression. Input voltage is +15 V with internal regulation so that the amplifier will function with a source voltage ranging from +5 V to +20 V. The current required is less than 90 mA. The operating temperature range of the amplifier is -40º C to +85º C and gain variation over temperature is less than 0.016 dB/º C. Connectors are SMA and delivery is from stock. Other models featuring additional gain and different frequency ranges are available.
