RoHS-compliant SMT amplifier for driver and LO buffer applications
Hittite Microwave Corporation has introduced an RoHS-compliant, SMT-packaged medium-power amplifier for radio, test and sensor applications from 12 GHz to 30 GHz. The HMC383LC4 is a GaAs PHEMT, MMIC medium-power amplifier designed to meet the needs of microwave radio designers by providing sufficient output power to function as a general-purpose driver amplifier, or to drive the mixer port of one of Hittite's I/Q or image reject mixers.
The HMC383LC4 delivers 15 dB gain, +18 dBm output P1dB, and consumes 100 mA from a single +5V supply. The RF I/Os are matched to 50 Ohms and dc blocked, and gain and output power are virtually flat over the frequency range enabling a common-driver/LO amplifier approach across multiple radio bands.
The HMC383LC4 SMT amplifier is housed in a leadless, 4x4 mm Pb-free and RoHS- compliant package. Samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock.
