QFN-packaged doubler and power amplifier includes gain control
Mimix Broadband has introduced an 18—21/ 36—42 GHz GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) doubler housed in a 7 mm square, surface-mount QFN package that is RoHS compliant. The XX1001-QK device delivers +25 dBm output power, exhibits a fundamental rejection of 50 dBc and has a gain control. The device combines an active doubler with an input buffer amplifier and a four-stage power amplifier. It is, therefore, well suited for a variety of applications, including microwave, point-to-point radio, VSAT, E-band radio and satellite communications.
According to Paul Beasly, product manager, this device can be operated in a saturated power mode or can be backed off for linear applications. The gain control feature is realized by adjusting the bias parameters. This means that the XX1001-QK is a versatile product that simplifies design efforts and reduces costs for applications in the 36 GHz to 42 GHz spectrum.
Mimix Broadband is an ISO 9001-registered company that develops high-performance GaAs semiconductors from dc to 50 GHz for microwave and millimeter-wave wireless communications applications.
Engineering samples and small production quantities of the XX1001-QK are available from stock.
