Aperto Networks Introduces Indoor Self-install WiMAX Subscriber Equipment

Aperto Networks announced the availability in the first quarter of 2006 of its indoor, self-install WiMAX broadband wireless products for consumers. The intuitive, simple-to-install WiMAX customer premise equipment features the latest advancements in chip, radio and antenna technologies. The products will facilitate the broadband wireless access to consumers of a wide range of services such as video, data and voice, including VOIP. It ushers in an era in which consumers will now have the choice of wireless broadband as a viable, affordable alternative to DSL or cable.

The IEEE 802.16-2004 standards-compliant products, designed to allow simple self-installation and intuitive configuration management, will be marketed as the PM500 Series product line within Aperto Networks' PacketMAX product family. Aperto's PacketMAX products currently are undergoing interoperability and conformance testing at Cetecom Labs, in Malaga, Spain, and are expected to be among the first products to be declared WiMAX Forum Certified before the end of 2005.
